We realized the care home software market was broken - expensive legacy systems, hidden fees, terrible user experience, companies exploiting captive customers. So we built Statixs: Modern tech that's actually fast and pleasant to use. Fair pricing - £5/user all-in, no hidden fees, DBS at exact cost. Everything connected in one platform instead of juggling multiple tools. Built for care homes specifically, not generic HR software adapted poorly for healthcare. Transparent about costs and limitations instead of overselling. It took 18 months to build the first version. Launched in 2020. Now we've got 500+ care homes using it. Still feels a bit surreal that we're genuinely helping care homes save £5,000-20,000 per year while giving them better tools.
Few things: We're not trying to maximize profits at your expense. Most competitors charge whatever they can get away with - £27/user because care homes feel stuck. We charge £5/user because that's fair and sustainable for both of us. Our profit margin is lower, we're okay with that. Transparent pricing, no games. Competitors play pricing games - base price looks reasonable, then they add £5 for scheduling, £6 for compliance, £3 for training, £500 setup fee, £15 DBS markup. Suddenly you're paying 3× what you thought. We tell you exactly what it costs upfront: £5/user/month + DBS at cost (£49.50). Built for care homes, not adapted. Some competitors started as generic HR software then tried to add healthcare features as bolt-ons. We built Statixs from day one for CQC compliance, DBS tracking, and care home workflows. Modern tech that actually works well. We use current cloud infrastructure, mobile-first design, intuitive UX. Competitors often use systems from 2005 that feel clunky. We actually care about care homes. Sounds cheesy, but it's true. We could charge more - customers would probably pay it. We choose not to because we believe affordable compliance tools help care homes focus on residents instead of paperwork. That's the mission.
