Reference Check Questions
We support five comprehensive reference types covering all employment verification needs:
1. Employment Reference: Verify previous employment with company details, job title, employment dates, reason for leaving, referee contact (usually HR or previous manager), automated referee email with secure form link.
2. Personal Reference: Character references from professionals (doctor, teacher, solicitor, accountant, etc.), relationship duration and capacity, profession verification, character assessment questions.
3. Education Reference: Academic institution verification, enrollment dates and current student status, qualification obtained or pursuing, academic referee contact details.
4. Employment Gap Explanation: Document gaps in employment history (family commitments, education, health, travel, career break, unemployment), date ranges for each gap, detailed explanations, supporting evidence.
5. Self-Employment Reference: Business type (Limited Company, Partnership, Sole Trader, Charity, Public Sector), business activities description, verification details, supporting documentation.
Why five types matter: CQC expects complete employment verification. What schemas are: Think of a schema as a reference template. You create one called 'Registered Nurse References' with specific questions about clinical competence, NMC registration, medication administration, safeguarding knowledge. Another called 'Care Assistant References' with questions about personal care, infection control, team working.
Building custom schemas: Use the question builder to create your questions (multiple choice, yes/no, text response, rating scales), organize questions into categories (competence, conduct, attendance, character), mark required vs optional fields, add conditional logic (if answer is 'No' to X, ask follow-up Y).
Binding to job roles: Assign schemas to specific job roles in Statixs. When HR creates new employee record for 'Registered Nurse,' platform automatically applies the Nurse schema. When hiring 'Kitchen Staff,' applies Kitchen schema with food safety questions.
Template library: Statixs includes pre-built templates for common healthcare roles (registered nurse, care assistant, senior carer, activities coordinator, kitchen staff, maintenance). You can use as-is or customize.
